G.O.A.T. BOWL I Competition Structure

Welcome to GOAT BOWL I, the ultimate pickleball showdown! 

Teams of four players go head-to-head in a single-elimination structure, competing in a series of matches where each team fields their selected 2-player combination for every game, all match rounds are played to 21, with a win by 1. NOTE: This is a Rally Scoring Format (a point is earned every rally)

- Teammates switch serve between winning points (not positions) - Players serve and return on the same side throughout the duration of the game. (If you start on the left, you stay there the entire game, if you start on the right, you serve and return from the right the entire game).

- One serve side out, if you serve and lose a rally, the opposing team earns the point and gets the ball (side out) to serve.

- Each team is allowed (2) timeouts per game and will be allowed to switch sides with the selected partner only on a called time out .

MATCH STRUCTURE (4 Game Series)

Game 1 & 2: (Away Team) puts out their first 2 player team, and the (Home Team) responds with their chosen 2 player team.

After this game to 21 concludes, the other 2 remaining teams will play their game to 21.

Game 3 & 4: (Away Team) puts out their first 2 player team, and the (Home Team) responds with their chosen 2 player team.

*Please note you can not play the same player combination twice in a match!

UPON A TIE:

The tension escalates with each match's four games, and if the competition reaches a tie(2&2), each team will send out their selected 2-player combination to battle to 21 win by 1 (Rally Scoring), to determine the ultimate champion. You can NOT mix partners once the tie breaker match starts (match-ups) are final for the duration of this tie break game.

-  The (Away Team) puts their 2 player combination out first and the (Home Team) responds with their chosen 2 players. This match-up plays 4 points in a row. Then the remaining two teams continue the game from where the last two teams finished for the next 4 points, and so on to the finish, 21 points.

-  The first team to reach 21 points in the tie break moves on in the tournament working their way to the final on GOAT BOWL I Championship Court.
